My Blog Break is over

For all sorts of reasons, I needed a blog break.  I was a bit overwhelmed with a few things, but I am feeling like I have things somewhat under control now.  Here is a little update on what I have been doing.

It all started with my scraps, and my fabric which was totally out of control  I spent some time sorting and organizing, so now I know what I have, and good or bad how very much I have.  I can now see all my projects in various stages of assembly, and I felt this overwhelming need to get some of these things completed.  Of course I didn't finish all or even most of them, but I do feel like I have reinvested myself into my UFO's.

My  fabric sorted by color, with scraps in smaller boxes, and project and UFO boxes on the top shelf

This is all relative, and I am certain there are others with more or less, but in my opinion, for myself, I have way too much.  I don't want more storage, I want less stuff.  I want my project list to get shorter, not longer, and at the same time there is always something new that I want to start.

Here are some of the things I have been working on.

My Maggie Rabbits.  Yes I am making more than one, and they are all taking shape and will soon have clothing.

I made some cute little hot pads as I learned to QAYG from my Craftsy Class.  With that mastered I started making my bag.

This is such fun, and I have never done a QAYG project before.  My bag is more than half way finished.

I was inspired by this little hexie project I saw on the blog, Pretty by hand.
I love having a take along project, and this one was fun to work on.  I am nostranger to paper piecing hexies, (maybe another post) and I honestly thought I would never hexie again, but I caved.

An view on the inside of the wallet.
And, can you tell what Craftsy Class this is from?  Angela Walters, Dot to Dot quilting class.

Another project that I have been wanting to work on is this Flower Girl Pattern made with Marmalade fabric for my little Holly girl.  This quilt top is now pieced and waiting to get quilted.

Ethan frosting my birthday cake.
Early in September I had a birthday, but I ended up sick and missed the surprise party my kids arranged for me.  How very sad is that?  We celebrated a few days later, and I made everyone hide and yell surprise just the same.

There were some quilts along the way also.  I worked on some Quilts of Valor for our local guild, (sorry no pics of those) and some customer quilts.  Those will be in another post.

I want to thank those of you who contacted me during my break just to check up on me.  I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that.

Do what you love and love what you do, and take a break if you need to.

Thanks for reading,

Esther
